Pandurević, Vinko

Vinko Pandurevic Vinko Pandurević was Lieutenant Colonel in command of the Zvornik Brigade of the Drina Corps of the Bosnian Serb Army (VRS) from 12 December 1992 until November 1996. Pandurević has been charged – on the basis of individual criminal responsibility and superior criminal responsibility – with genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, extermination, murder, persecutions, forcible transfer, and deportation. These crimes allegedly took place between July and November 1995, most notably including the massacre at Srebrenica in July 1995.

Vinko Pandurević surrendered on 23 March 2005 and was transferred to the ICTY on the same day. He pleaded not guilty to all charges. Pandurević has been indicted with six other accused: Vujadin Popović, Ljubiša Beara, Drago Nikolić, Ljubomir Borovčanin, Radivoje Miletić and Milan Gvero ("Popović et al." - "Srebrenica").

The trial commenced on 14 July 2006. 

The Prosecution case closed on 7 February 2008. The Defence case commenced on 2 June 2008 and closed on 12 March 2009.

The parties presented their closing arguments between 2 and 15 September 2009.

On 10 June 2010 Vinko Pandurevic was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment.

On 9 March 2011 the defence filed a public redacted version of its notice of appeal.
